One man split time, one God gave so much so we could have so much. Jesus Christ, Yeshua Hamashiach, Jesus Christo, the Savior, the Lamb of God, the Word in the Flesh. He inspires more people each day than any other religious guru in history and He holds Himself out to be unique....yet a man none-the-less. The God-Man.
I am waxing spiritual today. God is answering yet another cry of my heart, the desire to play music for him. I have had this desire in earnest since I was 4 years old. It brings me so much joy, sometimes I feel like it isn't a ministry. Ministry should be a sacrifice, shouldn't be this fun.
I've played it on and off for most of my life, but only for small audiences, congregations and/or Bible studies, recitals and I've not been serious about getting good either because of so many family commitments...until the last few years. You see I joined a large church that only hired professional rhythm sections. No room for hacks. It was what I needed to hit the books...and the practice pads.
I knew I'd have to be professional quality to play with them. So for the last 3 years, I've been practicing 6 to 10 hours a week, taking lessons and reading a lot from experts.
This weekend, I am playing with a band for 800 to 1200 people....three times and I am beyond thankful to my Savior. If I do well, and I should... it will be a regular gig. They didn't start me slow either, we are doing a 30 minute set, then coming back in the same service with one more. There are three of the songs are barn burners...fast and syncopated. I am stoked.
It is difficult for me to think of one thing God has given me the desire to do, that He has not fulfilled. In most cases I got way out ahead of Him, did it on my own, so He took it away, then later gave it back under His own Holy circumstances.
I am not a rich rock star playing the drums for screaming girls like I wanted to be when I was 19, I am a father, husband, churchman (spiritually wealthy) who also happens to be a musician and who loves to play for my God. Thank you Father.
Oh the glory of it all is he came here
For the rescue of us all that we may live
Oh the glory of it all is he is here
For redemption from the fall that we may live
Oh the glory of it all, Oh the glory of it all
Everything will change, things will never be the same
We will never be the same, We will never be the same

Greetings Mr Bob
I was going thru the different titles credited to Jesus the Messiah, in the first paragraph of your blog.
All of them I would consider scriptural except for "The God-Man!"
That title isn't from Scripture; but rather contrived.

I accept him as fully human and fully divine, separate from all other's never been another like Him, never will be...He claimed to be God. If you choose to ignore those scriptures because they dont' fit your box, then I doubt I'll be able to convince you.
The God-Man is a descriptive term made up (contrived as you say) by scholars much smarter than I to describe what scripture teaches about Him and what He said about Himself
Hmmm!
Where did Jesus ever claim to be GOD?
If he indeed did! ... That would settle the whole matter.
But the fact is (as far as I can tell) that Jesus never ever claimed to be Almighty GOD!!
If he did, please supply the scriptural refs., as I may have overlooked this.
As far as I can tell, what indeed Jesus said about himself was that he is indeed,
the Messiah, the Son of the Living GOD; the ONE GOD's appointed King.
And Jesus identified his Father as
the only true GOD.
[John 17.3]
BTW, have you watch the video?
Please do watch.
It has been made by others much smarter than I, to describe what I am trying to say.

Obviously you know, Jesus did not say in English..I am God Almighty. But let's examine scripture shall we? It doesn't matter what you or I think, it matters what scripture says, on that I am sure we agree.
Matthew 12:8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, "Verily, verily I say unto you, 'Before Abraham was, I am'." [compare with Exodus 3:14 - And God said unto Moses, "I AM THAT I AM," and he said, "Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, 'I AM hath sent me unto you.'"]
John 10:30-33; 36-39
[Jesus said,] "I and my Father are one." Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, "Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?" The Jews answered him, saying, "For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God." [Jesus said,] "Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, 'Thou blasphemest'; because I said, 'I am the Son of God?' If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him." Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand...
The Jews tried to kill Him everytime he equated Himself to the Father...they knew what He meant.
John 14:7-9
[Jesus said,] "If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him." Philip saith unto him, "Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us." Jesus saith unto him, "Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, 'Shew us the Father?' "
Revelation 1:8 "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending," saith the Lord, "which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."
OK that is what he said about himself, what did others say about him?
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, "God with us".
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 20:29 And Thomas answered and said unto him, "My Lord and my God." Jesus saith unto him, "Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."
Acts 20:28
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
Romans 9:5
Of [the Israelites] as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever.
Revelation 17:14
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
Colossians 2:9
For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
The scriptures also claim Jesus to be the creator in;
John 1:1-5,9-14
Colossians 1:12-20 and Hebrews 1:1-8 among other places.
The Trinity is indeed a spiritual mystery, although when scripture is examined with an open heart I believe it is pretty easy to see that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are indeed God here on earth, regardless if it makes our little minds explode when we try to put are head around it.
